Instructions
 

  • Beat brown sugar and butter until blended in a bowl
  • Beat in the egg and molasses.
  • Mix the flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon and cloves.
  • Add these to the brown sugar mixture and blend well.
  • Cover and refrigerate for 2 1/2 hours.
  • Shape the dough into half-inch balls.
  • Roll the ball in the sugar.
  • Place 2 1/2 inches apart on baking sheet.
  • Bake at 350° for 12 min.
  • Makes 18 cookies.
